RataPlan has not been idle this year! Despite the Corona virus and an unforeseen fire at RataPlan Amsterdam Willem Roelofsstraat we look back on an eventful, but very beautiful year. We opened new stores, put more people to work, realized great collaborations and we even opened our own recycling factory! Read on for all the highlights of 2020!
Number of workplaces
Providing workplaces to people at a distance from the labor market is one of the main goals of RataPlan. The premise of RataPlan is that it looks at what the employee can do instead of what the employee cannot do. In this way we try to offer so many people (at a distance from the labor market) a chance for a better life. In 2020 RataPlan a total of 690 workplaces, including 192 volunteers, offered to employees at a distance from the regular labor market.
Realization sustainability
Another important goal of RataPlan is to stimulate a sustainable society. RataPlan is increasingly collaborating with municipalities in the field of reuse. RataPlan has saved 10.195 in Co2 emissions in the past year. This equals the average energy consumption of 2487 households. In addition, opened RataPlan in August one recycle factory in Heerhugowaard. Here everything is recycled down to the last thread. The recycling factory gives a second life to clothing that is no longer salable.
From 2.0 to 3.0!
RataPlan has spent the past year transforming the 2.0 stores to 3.0 stores. The concept 3.0 is more innovative, involving collaboration with parties in the field of up-cycling, circular economy and energy transition. In 2020, two new thrift stores with a 3.0 concept opened their doors to shoppers. Opened on February 27, 2020 RataPlan into a new store Hoofddorp at 46 Graftermeerstraat. In August RataPlan the thrift store of Het Goed on the Meent 14 in Lelystad about. The takeover made it possible to keep most of the jobs.
Success stories from 2020
In 2020 a great collaboration took place with none other than YouTuber and Influencer Diana Lifelong. Diana has in partnership with RataPlan student rooms have a makeover with second hand stuff from RataPlan. This was a great success and her followers responded enthusiastically to her videos. Also has RataPlan Achieved the social enterprises code and the PSO quality mark in 2020! With this certification we show that RataPlan makes structural work of social entrepreneurship and visibly takes its social responsibility.
On behalf of everyone from RataPlan we would like to wish you happy holidays and a healthy and sustainable new year! We hope to welcome everyone back to one of our stores in 2021 for a thrift day at its best! On to an even more sustainable 2021!
