The National Recycling Week takes place from 14 October to 21 October. Everyone recycles something nowadays, but not everyone recycles everything. To bring extra attention to this week, a special campaign is being launched, namely "All Holland Recycle" with the focus on E-waste. Producers, retailers and municipalities are campaigning to persuade all Dutch people to hand in their old electrical appliances and lighting to the environment or one of the collection points. The purpose of 'Heel Holland Recyclet' is to draw attention to the urgency and necessity of separate collection of electronic and electrical waste.
Recycling is required
Why should everyone recycle? The recycling of products and raw materials results in a saving of both raw materials and energy. Raw materials are saved because no new products are made with new raw materials. In addition, less energy needs to be used for recycling than for production with new raw materials. In addition, the raw materials we use are scarce. It is not certain how many raw materials we can still extract from the earth for the production of products. The more that is recycled, the less new raw materials are used.
Recycle at RataPlan
Giving a second life to your old appliances and lamps can be done at a thrift store RataPlan. By promoting the reuse of goods as much as possible, waste is prevented. When it turns out that things are unsaleable, they are not thrown away, but the resources are recovered. In this way material reuse is encouraged. RataPlan thereby contributes to the circular economy, whereby the reuse of products and raw materials is maximized and the destruction of usable items is minimized.
Do you have old electronic devices? Then hand them in at one of our stores. View here which store is in your area.
