Thrift shopping is hip these days and thrift stores continue to grow in popularity. Everyone in the Netherlands can start a thrift shop, which is why it is important in the thrift industry to distinguish yourself. RataPlan wants to show that it is unconditionally committed to people and the environment, and this can be done by means of a number of social quality marks. Certify these quality marks RataPlan as a social organization and thus ensure the goal of creating employment for people who are distant from the regular labor market and to reduce waste.

Keurmerk recycle companies
On 1 June 2015 RataPlan have been given the Keurmerk Kringloopbedrijven. This has been presented by the Dutch Association of Recycling Companies (BKN) around RataPlan since its inception in 1994. The quality mark means that you as a thrift company have proven that you deal with people and materials in a professional, responsible and safe manner.
RataPlan distinguishes itself with the quality mark in two respects of the thrift shops that do not have the quality mark. In the first place offers RataPlan employment for people at a distance from the labor market. In addition, takes RataPlan responsibility when it comes to the environment and the reuse of stuff. If product reuse is not possible, material reuse is switched.
Performance ladder Social entrepreneurship
De Performance ladder Socialer Ondernemen (PSO) is a scientifically based measurement and registration tool that provides insight into the extent to which organizations have more than average social entrepreneurship. The focus is on the labor participation of vulnerable groups in the labor market.
RataPlan is in possession of it PSO quality mark step 3. This is the highest achievable level. Companies with step 3 are among the frontrunners in terms of the amount of employment offered to the PSO target group. This means that more people from the vulnerable target group work for the PSO-certified company than for organizations of the same size.
Within the highest PSO performance level (level 3), a company can achieve an additional goal, namely the PSO 30+ certificate. This means that at least 30% of the employees must consist of employees who are at a distance from the labor market. Bee RataPlan this group consists of no less than 42,2%! Register social enterprises
RataPlan was admitted to the Register of Social Enterprises in May 2020. This register is all about impact first. This means that companies primarily want to solve a social problem. The Code contains 5 principles that together show what social entrepreneurship stands for according to the Code.

ANBI
All foundations of RataPlan have been designated by the tax authorities as a public benefit organization (ANBI). An institution can only be an ANBI if it is fully committed to the public interest.
An organization with an ANBI must be transparent. That is why various data are publicly available. The relevant information is stated on the website.
