Recycling fans in Spijkenisse can come and visit us at Zuidpassage 11 at the new shop building from 16 August! Clear and bright spaces, a shop on the ground floor, a bicycle department including a bicycle repair shop and the new concept 'RataPlant' where discarded plants also get a second chance. The new building of the Foundation RataPlan becomes more than just a thrift store.
Due to a new zoning plan for the building at Groene Kruisstraat 4, where we have been happy to welcome our customers for no less than 9 years, we had to move. Nevertheless, they are very happy with the new location. There is already a lot of work going on to offer recycling fans in Spijkenisse an even more enjoyable shopping experience.
'More than a thrift store'
Introduced last year RataPlan already the concept of 'more than a thrift store': locations where customers can not only go to hunt for bargains, but where a complete thrift experience awaits them. This will certainly also apply to the new shop on the Zuidpassage, where visitors can, for example, visit a bicycle workshop. This is where the bicycle makers break RataPlan brought in bicycles and they are ready for you to tinker with your bicycle. Sustainability and reuse are central to RataPlan. Why throw away a product when it can easily last for years or thanks to a (small) repair?
And reuse at RataPlan This does not only concern clothing, furniture or crockery, but you will also find a department in the new building'RataPlant' where you can donate discarded plants or 'adopt' green friends
'All elements in the field of sustainability and upcycling come together at this new location', says director Gert-Jan Dekker proudly. 'In this way we take care of the world together, one in which everyone can make a valuable contribution.'
Vulnerable target group
And perhaps more importantly: the entire store team of RataPlan Spijkenisse is moving with us! You will therefore continue to see familiar faces in the store and behind the cash register at the Zuidpassage. And vice versa, the employees naturally hope to be able to greet many regular customers from their new workplace!
Not only that, the building of a classroom is also planned. there will RataPlan, in collaboration with the ROC, offer training so that employees can obtain a basic qualification through education in practice.
Accessible and reachable
With a location in the middle of the lively Zuidpassage, a visit to RataPlan Spijkenisse will soon be a nice addition to a day of shopping. The new building will be sustainable and well-arranged with space for an inspiring presentation of items, from nicely decorated headrooms to fully furnished rooms. The shop is located on the ground floor and is entirely on the ground floor, making it easily accessible for the disabled. For the delivery or collection of large products, the side of the building is easily accessible by car (next to the theater garage).
Park the first hour for free in the Theater Garage when you spend €10 or more RataPlan
If you come shopping with us at 16 Zuidpassage, you can easily park in the Theater Garage at 22 Gorsstraat in Spijkenisse. You pay €1 for the first hour and after that you pay €6 every 0,10 minutes. If you make a purchase of at least €10 from us, we will stamp your parking ticket for the first hour of parking.

Thursday 11 August opens RataPlan Spijkenisse opens its doors to the shopping public at 09.00:XNUMX. It promises to be a festive opening with house DJ Carlo taking care of the music!

Old items that are still usable can still be returned to Groene Kruisstraat 4. From Monday 1 August this can be done at Zuidpassage 16. The goods collection desk is located on the side of the building and is easily accessible via the main road.
