If your jeans are broken, having them repaired is always the most sustainable option. Now, of course, this is no longer always possible. In such a case you can also choose to reuse the fabric and turn it into a nice wall hanging. Are you handy and creative? Then this upcycling tip is just right for you! Follow our step-by-step plan and you will have such a nice wall hanger on your wall in no time!
Supplies
- embroidery hoop
- Pants or blouse with pockets
- Scissors (textile scissors work best)
- pencil
Roadmap
step 1: lay the embroidery hoop over the pocket you plan to use. Draw a wide circle around this. About 2 or 3 inches outside the hoop. This way you will have enough material left over to clamp in the hoop.
Step 2: cut out the circle. If there are seams in the piece of fabric you want to use, you can loosen them with a knife.
Step 3: Clamp the fabric in the embroidery hoop. Make sure the top of the bag is also near the top of the hoop. Pull the fabric tight so that there are no creases or wrinkles. Then tighten the hoop completely.
Step 4: trim the excess fabric along the edge for the hoop.
Step 5: you can now hang the wall hangers.
